For those seeking fast and luxurious travel, the Embraer Phenom 300E stands out as a top choice in the super-light jet category. With the capacity to comfortably seat up to eight passengers, it’s ideal for a variety of travel needs, whether it’s a quick getaway to the Alps or a business meeting in the heart of the city.
Embraer’s Phenom 300 series has become a fixture in the light jet market, dominating its class for over a decade. In fact, 2023 marked the 12th consecutive year that the Phenom 300 reigned as the best-selling jet in its category, with 63 deliveries last year alone. At Victor, demand for the Phenom 300 has surged, with a 9% increase in jet charter bookings. Last year, the aircraft ended the Citation Excel family’s 15-year reign as the most-used private jet, further cementing its position as a market leader.
About the aircraft
Performance is at the heart of what makes the Phenom 300E (the newer, enhanced version of the 300) a standout. With a high-speed cruise of 464 knots, it holds the distinction of being the fastest light jet currently in production. Its range is equally impressive, offering a flight distance of 2,010 nautical miles with five passengers and reserves, making it a versatile option for regional and even some transcontinental routes. This range is ideal for the European or U.S. market, where business travellers often require a balance of speed and distance.
One unique feature that adds to the ease of travel is the inclusion of a folding staircase, a luxury typically reserved for larger jets. This makes boarding and disembarking smoother, especially in smaller airports where jetways are not available. In 2018, Embraer added a suite of new features that elevate both technology and comfort. The Lufthansa Technik “nice” cabin management system was integrated via an upper tech panel, giving passengers more control over their in-flight experience.
Interior experience
What truly sets the Phenom 300E apart, however, is the experience inside the cabin. Embraer partnered with BMW Designworks to completely refit the interior, enhancing comfort with improved ergonomics, more headroom, and increased aisle space. Notably, the Phenom 300E also offers a separate lavatory—a rare luxury in the super-light jet category.
The new Bossa Nova interior draws inspiration from Embraer’s Praetor 600, incorporating design elements like Ipanema stitching, carbon-fibre accents, and piano black veneer, all adding a touch of Brazilian elegance. Accent leather and gold-plating further enhance the cabin’s premium feel. In addition to the aesthetic upgrades, engineering changes have made the cabin noticeably quieter, enhancing the overall in-flight atmosphere.
The Perfect Jet for Skiing Getaways
As winter approaches and thoughts turn to skiing in the Alps, the Phenom 300E emerges as a top choice for those eager to hit the slopes. Not only does it provide ample space for ski gear, but its performance capabilities also allow it to access airports with shorter runways. Key destinations like Sion (SIR), Samedan (SMV), and Bolzano (BZO) often have limited runway lengths, restricting the types of aircraft that can land. The Phenom 300E’s agility and compact size make it ideal for reaching these smaller airports, ensuring travellers can get closer to ski resorts with minimal hassle.
The jet’s luggage capacity is also noteworthy, as it features a flat floor in the luggage compartment, making it easier to stack suitcases, skis and other bulky sports equipment. This is opposed to the hold in the Citation XLS+ (competitor model in the same class) which has more overall space but is made of levels. With ample space for six pairs of skis and accompanying soft bags, or four pairs of skis along with medium-sized suitcases, passengers can easily transport gear for a quick ski trip to the Alps or another winter destination.
